Assistant Manager, Operations (Jurong Point)
Objectives:
The incumbent will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally friendly shopping mall environment while meeting defined cleaning outcome indicators. This includes optimizing water efficiency practices, review and renewal of environmental service contracts, fostering sustainability, managing vendor relationships and aligning contractual agreements with both regulatory requirement and the shopping mall objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of housekeeping operations within the shopping mall. Develop and implement efficient cleaning protocols to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Develop and enforce pest management strategies to prevent infestations. Coordinate pest control activities, ensuring a pest-free environment.
- Oversee waste segregation, recycling, and disposal procedures. Establish and manage waste disposal procedures and optimize waste management systems for efficiency and sustainability.
- Supervise landscaping initiatives to enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas.
- Design and execute environmental sanitation programs to promote a healthy and safe environment.
- Implement disinfection protocols to maintain a hygienic environment, especially in high-touch areas.
- Maintenance of kitchen exhaust system for optimal functionality.
- Monitor indoor air quality and implement measures to enhance it.
- Implement water-efficient practices and technologies to minimize water consumption.
- Review existing contracts and negotiate contract terms related to housekeeping, pest control, waste disposal, landscaping, and other environmental services.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate vendor performance.
- Assist in the development of budgets related to environmental services. Identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline processes and negotiate favourable terms to optimize budget allocations.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Facility Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a shopping mall or commercial property management setting.
- Good leadership and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in tendering processes, including calling for tenders, ITQs, and vendor negotiations.
- Knowledge of building fabrics, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with contract optimization and vendor management.
