Assistant Manager - Risk Management

Role Objective

To take a hands‑on role in managing day‑to‑day operational risks across Link’s operations, working closely with business teams to identify control gaps, review operational processes, investigate incidents, and drive practical risk remediation actions. The role focuses on execution and implementation, supporting the Risk Management function in embedding strong operational risk practices within the business.

Job Duties

Operational Risk

  • Perform hands‑on operational risk assessments on business processes, including property management, asset management, leasing, procurement, outsourced services, and support functions.
  • Work directly with operational teams to map processes, identify control gaps, and assess operational risks arising from day‑to‑day activities.
  • Maintain risk registers, risk assessment records, and supporting documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Control Review & Remediation

  • Review existing controls and operating procedures to assess their effectiveness and practical application.
  • Track, follow up, and validate implementation of agreed risk mitigation actions with business owners.
  • Support remediation of issues identified from operational incidents, risk reviews, internal audits, or regulatory observations.

Incident & Loss Event Management

  • Assist in investigating operational incidents, errors, losses, and near‑misses, including fact‑finding and root cause analysis.
  • Liaise with business units to document incidents clearly and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.
  • Monitor recurring issues and highlight trends or control weaknesses to management.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting

  • Prepare regular risk reports, dashboards, and summaries for management use.
  • Monitor key operational risk indicators and follow up on unusual movements or emerging risk trends.
  • Support preparation of materials for management or risk committee meetings.

Regional & Business Support

  • Work closely with regional operations and overseas teams to support consistent operational risk practices while addressing local operational realities.
  • Provide practical, on‑the‑ground advice to business units on operational risk matters, process changes, and new initiatives.
  • Support risk reviews for new processes, system enhancements, onboarding of vendors, or changes in operating models.

Policy, Procedure & Ad Hoc Work

  • Assist in updating risk‑related procedures, guidelines, and templates to reflect actual operational practices.
  • Participate in projects related to process improvement, operational efficiency, digitalisation, or system implementation from a risk and control perspective.
  • Perform other operational risk‑related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 8 years of practical experience in operational risk, internal control, internal audit, or risk management, preferably within real estate, property management or asset management.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience reviewing operational processes, identifying control issues, and following through remediation actions.
  • Experience supporting regional operations or working with overseas teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk and internal controls, with the ability to apply concepts practically rather than theoretically.
  • Detail‑oriented, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with operational staff and middle management to obtain information and drive action.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain risk issues clearly and pragmatically.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, hands‑on, and willing to go into operational details.
  • Practical mindset with sound judgement on balancing risk control and business efficiency.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and resilience.
