Human Resources Business Partner

Role Objective

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) function is responsible for providing strategic HR advisory support to designated business units. This involves partnering with business leaders to drive and implement HR initiatives that are aligned with the organisation's strategic goals, including but not limited to performance management, employee relations, talent management, compensation review, culture & engagement, talent retention, succession planning, leadership development, organisation review, etc. in compliance with HR policies and local legislations.

This role will be based in the Hong Kong office as part of the Group HR function, working with a professional team of HR generalists and specialists.

Job Duties

  • HR Business Partnering: Collaborate with business leaders to understand their human capital needs and challenges, and provide effective and efficient HR solutions to address the issues.
  • Employee Relations: Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and grievance cases. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Performance Management: Implement and manage performance appraisal processes. Provide guidance and support to line managers on performance-related issues.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Analyse HR metrics and provide insights to business leaders. Use data to drive people decisions and improve HR processes.
  • Annual Compensation Review: Support annual compensation planning process, including salary review and bonus allocation, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and market trends.
  • Talent Management: Support talent development and retention strategies. Work with line managers to identify and develop high-potential employees.
  • Change Management: Support organisational change initiatives by providing HR expertise and guidance. Facilitate employee communication to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labour laws and company policies. Stay updated on HR best practices and legal requirements.
  • HR Projects: Support and implement HR and other ad hoc projects e.g. employee engagement survey, culture project, HRIS enhancements, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a business partner role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labour laws, and employment regulations in Hong Kong.
  • Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with business stakeholders at all levels and within the HR Function.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and counselling skills.
  • A self-starter, well-organised and able to work independently and handle multi-tasks.
  • Highly adaptable in a changing environment and strong sense of ownership.
  • Analytical with demonstrable experience working with HR metrics/analytics.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
