Officer - Legal (HK)
Role Objective
- In this role you will support Legal (Hong Kong) in delivering legal advice and services to business units regarding leasing, litigation, land & development, corporate legal and stamping matters in Link REIT’s Hong Kong portfolio.
Job Duties
- Draft and review tenancy-related documents, including leases, licences, undertakings, supplemental agreements, and surrender agreements.
- Provide legal support for marketing events, review terms and conditions, and advise on general commercial matters.
- Collect information and prepare documentation for debt recovery, including distraint actions and Small Claims Tribunal cases.
- Assist with land and development matters as required.
- Manage e-stamping applications, conduct legal searches, and maintain records and databases of legal documents and contracts.
- Support the Team Head and Senior Managers with ad hoc assignments and projects.
Requirements
- Diploma in Legal Studies or above; a law degree and/or a practicing certificate is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a legal clerk or assistant in real estate legal matters, within a law firm or large corporation.
- Experience with e-stamping is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, CoPilot and virtual databases.
- Experience in undertaking legal research on-line and using common legal research platforms (e.g. Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, Practical Law, etc).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a high-performing team environment.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Cantonese is required; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
- Ability to work pro-actively and an openness to learning new skills is highly regarded.
