Senior Infrastructure Analyst - Server & Database

Role Objective

 

  • The successful candidate will work as a team member of Infrastructure & Data Centre team.
  • This role provides 1st & 2nd line IT infrastructure support and integration.  
  • He/She will support operations across on-premises and cloud-based platforms, work closely with application team, different business stakeholders and different levels of users to understand their needs, and communicate with vendors for IT solutions which comply with Link’s IT landscape.

Job Duties

 

  • Provide 1st & 2nd line IT infrastructure support.
  • Perform databases and systems administration including installation, backup, patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning on AWS, Azure and on-premises environments.
  • Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure As Code.
  • Ensure performance, security and availability of the databases.
  • Database architecture design, documentation, and scripting.
  • Ensure backups are run to schedule and retention is met.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution or overall improvement.
  • Seek for opportunities to improve IT infrastructure operations efficiency.

Requirements

 

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, or related disciplines. ITIL foundation and Azure certification would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in system and database administration, including MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, VMware ESXi, Veeam Backup and Replication, and SAN storage.
  • Solid experience in database administration and operations in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL database. 
  • Experience in MongoDB, MySQL and Oracle DB is an advantage.
  • Experience in project management, vendor management, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have good understanding of IT infrastructure - server, network, security, database, cloud integration, AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Windows Server, Linux etc.
  • Strong team player, able to learn and adopt new technologies quickly and good at problem-solving.
  • Open-minded, self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Work under tight deadlines, high sense of responsibility and good coordination skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
  • Willing to travel when required.
