Senior Legal Counsel

Role Objective

 

  • Provide legal support on land and development matters as well as other operational issues in Hong Kong
  • Ensure that Link’s interests are properly protected in real properties related transactions in Hong Kong
  • Promote and maintain awareness of development in laws, regulations and policies that would affect or be relevant to Link’s land and development activities in Hong Kong

Job Duties

 

  • Report to Director - General Counsel (Hong Kong) in leading the Land & Development Team
  • Provide guidance to and supervision of junior members in the Land & Development Team
  • Work with the Legal (Corporate & Investment) Department and other teams on Hong Kong real estate aspects of M&A and other investment/divestment transactions
  • Provide legal advice to business units on land and development matters as well as other operational issues
  • Advise on enquiries from government departments and regulators relating to land and development matters
  • Analyse new law, regulations and policies that would affect or be relevant to Link’s land and development activities
  • Provide support in ad-hoc real estate related matters or projects
  • Oversee procurement of, give instructions to and monitor performance of external legal advisers

Requirements

 

  • Qualified solicitor in Hong Kong
  • 12 years of post-qualification experience or above
  • Solid Hong Kong conveyancing / real estate experience is a must
  • In-house experience preferred but not absolutely required – business acumen and commercial sense being the key
  • Business proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese
