Senior Manager - Business Analytics

Role Objective

The Senior Manager is the deputy team leader of the group’s centralised Business and Data Analytics function, assisting the team leader on strategic direction, management, and the smooth operation of data analytics to support demanding business needs. This role is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of reporting and analytics solutions, maintaining strong operational governance, and partnering with business stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate multiple concurrent workstreams with strong time management, clear ownership, and transparent progress reporting to stakeholders, the reporting manager and internal teams.
  • Monitor the structure, design, development, enhancement, governance and documentation of the group’s centralised data warehouse and Power BI reporting within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Manage daily operations and end-to-end analytics delivery, including backlog prioritisation, issue triage, scope definitions, dependency tracking and delivery planning.
  • Ensure analytics products are reliable, accurate, scalable, and fit for business use while upholding best practices for quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Partner with business users and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, validate priorities, manage expectations, and align delivery outcomes.
  • Drive automation of reporting workflows and operational support processes using Power Automate or other appropriate tools.
  • Promote productivity improvements through the practical use of Copilot in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, Fabric Agent, and other emerging automation or AI-enabled tools.
  • Ensure solutions comply with agreed BI governance standards, deployment processes, documentation requirements, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Identify and contribute continuous improvement opportunities, including AI-enabled analytics, machine learning, advanced analytics, and process optimisation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related disciplines with formal technical training.
  • Substantial experience in business analytics and advanced Power BI development, including data modelling, DAX, SQL, and performance optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end analytics solution delivery in Microsoft Fabric (including data warehouse, pipelines, and Power BI governance concepts).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouse and key tools such as Power BI, Data Factory, Report Builder, and Power Automate (and/or equivalent Fabric components).
  • Proven project management experience, including delivery accountability and managing multiple stakeholders/timelines.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and drive outcomes under deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with a focus on active stakeholder engagement, expectation management, and transparent progress reporting.
  • Sound knowledge of BI governance, deployments, documentation, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong business acumen, combined with a collaborative, proactive 'can-do' work style and a results-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies, where practical experience of AI-enabled analytics, machine learning, or automation is highly valued.
  • Strong command of both written and oral English and Cantonese. Fluency in Mandarin is highly advantageous.
