Senior Manager - Insights & Analytics
Role Objective
The Senior Manager - Insights & Analytics is a newly-created role that contributes to the transformation of the Marketing department to be the centre of excellence for shopper understanding. This role will lead the development of a robust consumer 360 insights ecosystem that enables data-driven decision making and strengthens our ability to serve evolving consumer needs.
Working closely with other stakeholders as a strategic business partner, this individual will uncover trends and insights of the macro retail market, competitors and consumers while integrating different sources to formulate strategic recommendations that shape commercial performance.
Job Duties
Strategic Shopper Insights and Consumer Intelligence
- Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative researches (including AI researches) to understand shopper behaviors, motivations, attitudes, needs, and unmet opportunities.
- Own shopper segmentation and persona development frameworks to support portfolio, asset, and marketing strategies.
- Conduct ongoing shopper tracking studies to identify shifts in customer expectations, visitation patterns, and spending behaviors.
- Develop consumer foresight capabilities to anticipate emerging retail, lifestyle, and demographic trends.
- Lead analysis of CRM and loyalty program data, when it goes live, to understand customer acquisition, retention, engagement, frequency, and spend dynamics.
- Identify opportunities to increase repeat visitation, cross-mall engagement, shoppers spend, and loyalty program effectiveness.
- To support CRM team, evaluate customer journeys and lifecycle performance to improve customer experience and retention.
- Translate research findings into actionable business recommendations for senior management and business stakeholders.
Retail Performance & Business Analytics
- Monitor economic, retail, real estate and consumer developments across Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area, and key benchmark markets.
- Conduct competitive intelligence studies on shopping malls, loyalty programs, retail innovations, and customer experience initiatives.
- Provide insights on emerging consumer trends, digital behaviors, and market disruptions affecting retail performance.
- Support key business functions, to integrate shopper insights with tenants’ gross sales, footfall, and operational data to generate a holistic view of asset performance.
- Identify commercial opportunities and performance drivers across malls, categories, and customer segments.
- Analyze tenant and category performance trends to support asset management and leasing decisions.
- Develop dashboards and executive reporting frameworks that provide timely visibility to senior management
Data Strategy and Advanced Analytics
- Partner with Digital, CRM, IT and Data teams to strengthen customer data capabilities and governance.
- Promote the use of advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, predictive modelling, and dashboard reporting.
- Identify opportunities to integrate new data sources including mobile movement data, digital engagement data, social listening, and third-party consumer datasets.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and usability across customer analytics platforms.
Stakeholder & Budget Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership teams in Marketing, Asset Management, Leasing, etc.
- Manage research agencies, data providers, and analytics vendors to ensure delivery of high-quality insights.
- Help develop internal team capabilities in research, analytics, and insight generation.
- Own, monitor and manage research spends within budget, with cost-effectiveness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Marketing, Business, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and other relevant disciplines
- Minimum 8 years of progressive work experiences in research agency and/ consulting firm, with internal client experience a big plus.
- Experience in consumer-focused sectors like Retail, FMCG, Hospitality, E-Commerce, etc. preferred
- Proven track record in leading and driving complex, analytical cross-functional projects
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into execution
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects while consistently meeting deadlines
- Solid communication, stakeholder management, persuasion and presentation skills
- Strong command of both written and oral English and Cantonese. Mandarin a plus
